Comparable phone to replace Note7?

Now that I have to replace my 'replaced Note7', I could use some pointers from you all about a comparable phone. The Pixel/Pixel XL look good but no user sd card or wireless charging. Does this mean S7 Edge, S7 fallback are my only options?

I would start by making a list of must have's on a device and go from there. I'm sure some folks with jump ship with Samsung so you could look at other brands. Read reviews etc. I like to go online and instead of researching what's good about something, research common problems.

In that case, what was your 2nd option? If you liked the phone (minus the fire hazard) I'd say you were on the right track, just got unlucky that there was a safety hazard.

2nd option S7edge. I will miss the pen and ability to jot notes on the go without messing around.

Samsung, I lament, you engineered a fantastic gizmo, too bad the battery dug the grave for Note 7.
