Battery drains needing a recharge 2 or 3 times a day

After last update, my phone needs to be charged 2 or 3 times a day.   I am not doing different than I had prior to the update and I only charged my phone over night then.   Anyone else having issues?  I have a Note 4.   The phone is hot to touch.

It is concerning to hear you are having trouble with the performance of the battery, MiHolli and I’m happy to help you today. Let’s go over a few details and work towards a solution.

Has the phone suffered any physical or liquid damage at all? We also recommend you run a diagnostic http://vz.to/1tuzrWq on the phone at your earliest convenience to check the overall health.

Since it is a Note 4, I have to assume you have had this device for a couple years at least and so this is really to be expected as it uses a standard lithium ion battery. Over time, especially on someting that is used multiple, if not many times a day continuously for years this is really par for the  course and not out of the ordinary. I don't think it would make any sense to do any troubleshooting either, beyond checking for apps using battery extensively or even performing a factory reset to see how it performs when it is in a "clean" state. I don't think any device or battery could be expected to perform even remotely to what it did when it was new after a couple years and hundreds (if not thousands) of recharges later.

If you have insurance you can do a claim and get a new device, with Asurion quite possibly not having any more Note 4's to replace it with, who would then give you an alternate device they could replace it with.... Something to look into at least.
