I have a Samsung Verizon Wireless extender. It will work for days with no issues. Then for some reason several times a day the red light comes on the sys button. I have to unplug everything and start it again. It works after that. What is going on and how can I fix it? I am zip code 16403.
Thank you

Hello karin251! Thank you for letting us know about your concerns with your Extender. It would be very troubling to have to reset it, I'm sure. However, it does happen that devices in continuous service may need resetting. You say that it's okay for days. Can you estimate how often this has to occur? Have you been in touch with Tech Support about this matter? If so, what feedback did you get?

Are you having any issues with your home internet provider? I know my Time Warner goes out 2-3 times a day for 5 min and that would kick the extender off the network for that period of time.

Well after checking all the cables I discovered that my cat had chewed the cable! We replaced the cable and it works great! Thank you for the help

I don't know why it does that. Temporary service issues, just like when the signal fluctuates on my wireless phone. Since the extender is plugged into the router and the router is plugged into the modem and because the modem has the internet coming through the cable, I figured what they hey...if the cable service goes down obviously the extender would be affected.

Cable upstream and downstream signal levels fluctuate because something is wrong. View the modem’s Status page. Pay attention to upstream, downstream signal levels as well as SNR. Usually a clue to the problem appears on that page.

I think I was confused as to whether you were asking me "You know that TWC goes out 2-3 times a day because...? or you were asking me the reason it cuts out 2-3 times a day. That's just the nature of old cable lines in my town. Half the town is Comacast the other half is TWC, anything in between is some private property with the option to install some other company.
