I find that certain texts i receive are cut off.
I have spent a long time searching for the answer, but without luck.
For instance, people say that verizon cuts off texts from certain carriers in some situations,
that are longer than 160 characters.
However, with my situation, I have a samsung intensity 2,
and i can find no rhyme or reason to my incoming texts.
Here's an example:
a friend of mine (who has an iphone), sends me texts which are sometimes fairly long, perhaps around 150 characters or so,
but then maybe later that day, his next text to me is only this much:
"Happy to h"
(which is obviously nowhere even near the 160 character mark!
What could be the cause, and solution?
Could the messages have included emoticons which should have converted the message from SMS to MMS to allow for more characters and the extra code to translate the emoticons from one device to another?
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
I don't think that emojis will be displayed on a basic phone like the Samsung Intensity 2. Howeve, when sending emojis, the number of characters is shortened by at lease half.
