Why is 18GB not 18GB when using FamilyBase

Miembro

Why is it that I have 18GB on my data plan, but when using FamilyBase to control data usage 18GB is not truly 18GB. Using 3 phones the math would say that I can set it for 6GB per phone and be fair. But 6GB in FamilyBase is actually 6144.0MB. This means that I would be 432 MB over my 18GB plan and get charged for extra data, which has happened. I understand the math of 1GB = 1024MB, but why does the data plan not give me 18,432MB and call it 18GB?

Especially when the tools provided to help control your data limits use the math in that manner.

I'm not sure what you're asking.

6144 * 3 phones = 18432mb / 1024mb = 18gb. where's the problem?
