Do all devices on my plan need to be on Device Payment?

Miembro

I am exploring the option of switching over to the edge program but I had a question.  Can I switch just my phone over and keep my wife on her 2 year contract or do all phones on the plan have to switch over at the same time?

pkooistra76,

Great question! Edge is a great program. You do not have to switch both line over to the Edge program for one phone to take advantage of the program. Your wife can keep her 2 year contract. Find all the answers to your Edge questions right here... http://vz.to/1jpC7LO

Thanks for the response.  The link seems to go to the wrong place though.  One other question...  I got an email saying I could enter the program if I do so by March 31st even though I have another year on my contact.  Do I need to trade in my old phone to start with edge?  I read someone say it is optional when you initially enter.  Will any phone work?

If you are still under contract, you would need to trade in your phone. If you are not under contract, you would not trade in your phone. I believe the phone you purchased when signing your contract would need to be traded in.

I can't see Verizon giving a subsidy on an iPhone, for example, and accepting a basic flip phone as a trade in when entering an Edge program.

Keep in mind, the phone you trade in must be in good working order.Smiley Happy

pkooistra76,

I apologize for the link. Here is the correct link http://vz.to/1eAUqZN. I tested it to make sure it works correctly.

To answer your other question, you do need to turn in your current phone to take advantage of the Early Edge program. The phone needs to be in working conditions. If you want to keep your current phone and enroll in Edge, you will need to wait until you are eligible for an upgrade. Here is more info on the standard Edge program http://vz.to/1eAUqZN.

Keep me posted of you need further assistance.
