Why is my Mobile Hotspot not working?

The mobile hotspot on my MotoZ Force is not broadcasting the wifi signal needed to connect to other devices. It worked for the first week I had the aboveunlimited plan, then stopped working from one day to the next. No matter how many times I disconnect everything and restart everything there is no change. Normally when it's working correctly, the hotspot icon in my notifications shows the number of devices connected, whether it be a few or none, but now it says 'Mobile Hotspot Active, Tap to set up' I have tried setting it up in different ways, and as previously mentioned, disconnecting and restarting all devices involved. I have checked to see if the hotspot showed up on the wifi list for my PS4, a laptop and another phone and it simply isn't showing up. My data is connected, my WiFi is set to be visible to other devices. There was a system update during this time.

From what you’re describing, it sounds like you share your mobile hotspot with multiple devices including your game system. How much data do you use on those devices? Do you connect daily for several hours? Are you trying to use your phone as a primary source of data for these connections? Please note item 7 on this link. https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/above-unlimited-faqs/ There is a monthly limit per line of 20GB of 4G LTE data. After this, your speeds would be reduced to up to 600 Kbps. Does this help explain what you’re experiencing?

I normally only use it for one device, and am well aware of how the data system works. It being slow was not mentioned as an issue at any point in my original description. I cannot connect it to anything because it is not broadcasting a signal for the hotspot. So no, none of what you said is helpful at all.

YUXIEMA, being on the go and having the ability to use your laptop is definitely handy, so I want to make sure you have the same capabilities. Let's begin with some troubleshooting steps. Please take out the SIM card and reset the network settings, since it will help with refreshing the network. Please power up your device in Safe Mode. This will help with determining if a third party application is causing the issue. Below are the links:

I resolved this by calling into service and speaking with the account changes department, not tech support. They went into my plan features, took hotspot off and then added it back on and it resolved the issue
