Getting your device battery working as expected is a must erasanen. We are all eagerly all trying to get this figured out. Have you tried to recalibrate your battery?

Re-calibrate the battery

Press and hold the power button until the phone reboots (10secs)

Plug phone into the OEM Turbo charger

Allow phone to charge to 100% (leave on the charger overnight).

If the behavior persists please provide screenshots of the entire Battery screen. (Settings > Battery > Usage Details)

Ok, now I'm angry. There is nothing but lip service from Verizon on

this issue.

Two people have promised to call me back, none received. The phone is

sporadic when it comes to staying powered.

There are "lemon laws" for new cars. I'm thinking a class action lawsuit

with the concept of "lemon laws" for mobile devices should now be pursued.

Verizon, Motorola, and Lenovo should be much more concerned with their

reputation at this point.

Sorry to hear that you aren't fully back to normal even after disabling the FlashApp, jdkcpa. I'm happy to help out. To confirm, are you fully up to date on software? Here's how you can complete the update: https://vz.to/2BwTNUf How long is your battery lasting after a full charge?

I have two thoughts on this as I've been following it since the beginning.

1. Is there a way to test the battery to eliminate a hardware issue? (I realize that this is unlikely due to the extreme drain happening only after the Oreo update)

2. Is there a way to reinstall the Oreo update? Not just a factory reset which everyone has already done. I have to believe that something went wrong with the original Oreo install since this happened to only a subset of the owners (I did not have the extreme battery drain myself after the Oreo update). Has anyone tried to install Oreo again using ADB or some other utility?

Edit: I found this article. Can some try this to see if it fixes the issue?

Wow that is a good idea, however no one can get a response or any real help from Verizon/Mortorola!

I wanted to post an update since I got up early and had my phone shut down unexpectedly twice before I even got out of bed.

I was awakened at 6:15 when my phone rang. It was in a charge stand on my bed (powered by the original Turbo charge supply). No one there. Oh well, I was up 45 minutes before my alarm. Phone had been charging overnight so was 100%. I read some emails all over wi-fi. About 30 minutes later, I opened google maps and my phone shut down.

I plugged it into the charge stand and saw the lightning bolt showing me it was turned off and charging. About 30 seconds later it showed me that it was @ 80% charge and charging.

A few minutes later, I removed it from the charger. Powered it back on, power was at 83%, read some  emails and about 20 minutes later, noticed it was at 35%. By the time I finished what I was doing (maybe 1 minute) and got it back on the charge stand, it was @ 23%.

I normally use an external moto mod battery that holds the phone at 80% until the battery is gone. Phone is worthless without the extra battery or having it plugged in either in the car or at my desk.

Thinking back some of the pre-mature shutdowns have occurred when trying to start the camera and maps. Not sure if there is any other normal use case that is problematic. I have never seen it shut down unexpectedly when charging from USB, it does shot down frequently when charging from the external Moto Mods battery.

When the battery percentage drops quickly, there seems to be no common thread. Normal use and nothing shown in the battery usage noted in settings. A few apps and display using a few percent. Nothing to account for the other 80% that appears to be missing in sometimes just a few minutes. Phone is not overly hot as it would be if it was really using that much power than quickly.

I like the phone, hate the Oreo update, and the lack of support that I am seeing from Verizon. I design computer HW & SW and can pretty confidently say this phone (HW + SW together) are badly broken.

After my original post, I got someone from VZW that sounded like they cared and asked for contact info & time to set up a call with someone that might be able to help. I responded and have heard nothing back.

Holding out hope that someone will come up with a "silver bullet" but really leery based on what I've seen so far.

SOFTWIND14, we are disappointed to hear your experience with our device. Having a device power off at 70% is something that we would not expect from this type of device. I have sent a response via Private Message.

SOFTWIND14, May I ask, have you attempted to use a different charger/outlet? Is there any physical damage to the device?

No there is no damage to the phone.    I have tried other outlets and chargers.  I have 3 turbo chargers that I have to keep on hand because I cannot go anywhere without one.
