Thanks, Ralph. That is useful information. The only problem with that 'control' valve is you can't shut if off, so to speak. At least not from the phone itself (with the exception of the hidden menu). Just fyi on future phones, i know it goes against Verizon's current thinking, but from a customer's point of view, having some option, or even as simple as a notice, to when you are connected to the 3G (or 4G in in the near future) network, it should let you know. It really isn't complicated..like you turn the wifi antenna off, just provide a way to turn the 3G/'data' antenna off, and millions of customers would be happy and not get headaches from misinformed usage. That would do wonders for customer service and company rep.
