We want to ensure that your device works as intended and that all software updates are downloaded correctly, wtamx. When you experience issues with unsuccessful software downloads, a factory reset of the device may resolve the issue as it will clear any system files conflicts preventing a successful download. Please do a factory reset of your device as per this link (http://spr.ly/6582DW0z8) and try to update the software. Once the software is updated, all the issues that you are experiencing (as per your post: I have an AC791L exhibiting these same symptoms - 1 Alert, SMS Memory Full, please delete some messages) will most like be resolved as well. Keep us posted.

This must be the easy way to do it, because it worked like a charm for me, too.
Just send a message to the JetPack phone number, and then delete that message.

Lenny525, we appreciate your proactive troubleshooting efforts with your jetpacks, and these details are helpful. You've come to the right place for help. Since your other AC791L jetpack does not have issues, can you provide the firmware models for both your jetpacks? Looking forward to hearing back.

The problem (Alert-SMS Full) appears to be with the SIM card. The jetpack
was new, in the box, with a preinstalled Verizon SIM card. When I went to
the store to activate the unit, the store rep replaced the preinstalled
card with a new card (BULKSIM3FF-A). The first time I started the jetpack
the Alert was indicated. Today I substituted the new SIM with an older SIM
from a Verizon tablet and the alert message went away. Is it possible that
the new SIM card is defective? The outer card is stamped AVL0007a 022017
below the sim slot.

The SKU for the original SIM (on the VZN box) is ENBD4GSIM-M, if there is a
difference between what was installed (BULKSIM3FF-A)

One option you can consider is calling customer service at 1-800-922-0204 from a landline or *611 from a VZW phone and request they remove the text message feature from the Jetpack line so the device can't receive any text messages.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I don't want to do that because I've already proved that I can receive text
messages from Verizon CS. What I also proved is that the Alert message for
"SMS Memory Full" goes away when I swap out the SIM card. What I don't want
is the *Alert *message to delete text messages to free-up the SMS. The
question is now do I have the proper SIM for the Jetpack?

Yes I believe I need a new SIM card...but, explain if there are differences
in VZN sims. The sim that came with the new jetpack was discarded by the
Verizon sales rep and a new sim card was installed. My research based on
original SKU on the jetpack box concludes that the sim is used for routers
whereas the newly installed sim is your typical cell phone sim. Since the
Alert message "SMS Memory Full" disappeared when I swapped out the sim from
a Verizon tablet the sim appears to be the culprit. Therefore, I need a
new SIM appropriate for the AC791L jetpack. Regards and thank you.
