mifi 4510l will not assign an IP to my tl-mr3020 WISP.

Hello,

I am trying to get a TP-Link MR3020 WISP router to communicate with my 4510l. The mr3020 so find the 4510l hotspot however I am unable to get the 3020 to be assigned an IP.  What has to be done to get these devices communicating?

That won’t work with your hotspot. The MR3020 is only compatible with some USB modems.

Correct, the 3G/4G capability of the router will not work with the Jetpack. However, the MR3020 has a switch that automatically configures it for 3 modes of operation: 3G/4G, WISP and AP. In WISP mode, it uses Wi-Fi as the internet source and that most definitely works.

You've got something configured wrong. If you have reset both the 4510L and MR3020 with the mode switch in WISP then the tendency is for it to work. All you have to do is tell the MR3020 about the Wi-Fi source which includes channel, SSID and Wi-Fi Password. If you don't have all three right then the MR3020 cannot get an IP address from the Jetpack. If you're connecting a router to the MR3020 Ethernet port, that equals three subnets and all three (Jetpack, MR3020 and router) have to be different.
