How can I see data usage on my device?

I keep getting this message all the time when I push the button twice and want to see my data usage. It won't give me the data usage on the unit itself. It is brand new and I show data usage on the Verizon site in my account. I want to see it on the hot spot unit.

Verizon Ellipsis MHS800L Jetpack User Manual. Turn off the Jetpack and then remove and then reinstall the SIM Card to reseat it. Turn on the device, wait for it to power up completely and check Data Usage. If not resolved, perform a Power reset (Page 41). Wait for if to power up completely and check Data Usage. If it still not resolved, perform a Factory Reset (Page 42).
