I have a Verizon Jetpack AC791L I use as my home wireless router. Can I just leave it plugged in continuously?

Jetpacks are not designed to be connected continuously to external power. Verizon as well as third party vendors such as the 3Gstore.com, sell more appropriate devices for such use.
The removable battery means Jetpacks will fail and as long as you're aware of it; you can turn it off, remove and reinstall the battery and SIM Card and press the Reset button when it does and then do whatever you want with your Jetpack. My Jetpack has been on 99% of the time since June 2013, but it fails every 3 to 6 weeks and must be serviced as described.
