I'm visiting Mexico. I have the unlimited plan with Canada and Mexico included. Do I still need to turn on data roaming to use it in Mexico?

Jamesl62, ensuring that you have a working phone while traveling is key. Yes, with the new Verizon Plan Unlimited you can make calls, send texts and use data within Mexico and Canada:
• Unlimited calls
• Unlimited messages
• 512 MB/day of 4G LTE speed data*
*International data reduced to 2G speeds after 512 MB/day.
If more than 50% of your talk, text or data usage in a 60–day period is in Canada or Mexico, use of those services in those countries may be removed or limited.

Do I have to turn on roaming? When I do I am warned of potentially very high costs .
