UNSOLIDATED CALLS FROM VERIZON

Verizon calls me and leaves a message something about  "save interest" .  I try to call them back but the number left is not serviced.  Is it Verizon or is it not Verizon... I have to assume it's a HOUX.

However if it is  Verizon is calling, I have no interest in listening to a sales pitch so should I block it?

It looks like the Verizon telephone number is being spoofed. Telemarketers are, now, spoofing working TFNs for established institutions when making their calls. One in particular is the main TFN for Chase Card Services.

One option would be to add the telephone number to the phone's Block List.  I believe that Verizon Wireless also allows users to fully block a small number of telephone numbers for up to 90 days at a time via a tool found on VZW online accounts.

Verizon Wireless is supposedly going to be rolling out spam detection features to customers who own compatible phones. Hopefully this will help reduce the amount of garbage calls.
