So far, no news other than HTC's website that states June/July for release.

And yet, it DOES contain a dual core processor, so, technically, it meets the spec as stated.

Don't feel that way.  When you lie and deceive to sell something that's called fraud.  In the State of Ohio, it could be a violation of the Consumer Sales Practices Act of 1972.

lol. Really?  They simply made a statement that was subject to change.  They have no control over HTC or when they get the update and it obviously isn't fully complete if HTC has a June-July time frame.  It's not like they baited the customer by saying the update is coming and then decided not to release it completely.  Be glad you didn't have a Continuum or Fascinate.  The media dock had a little stick over the audio port that said "audio port will be functional with Froyo update".  took forever to get said update (at least officially anyways).

Also it's my understanding that gingerbread can in fact utilize both cores so it's not like 1 core is completely inactive until the ICS update.  Apps and the OS itself aren't multi-threaded but it can use the 2nd core when needed or assign certain tasks to it.  When it comes to performance, you're more likely to be limited by the RAM rather than the CPU especially with Sense being a memory hog

I was going to wait to buy the phone until after it started shipping with ICS.  Got tired of waiting and just ordered the phone.

The simple fact is Verizon allowed their sales people to lie.  Managers never corrected them in store.  Everyone that was getting the Rezound the same day I got mine was asking the same question... is the time frame for Ice Cream Sandwich on the Rezound display for real.  Thats why I asked the question.  I could get this phone now or get the Gnex with ICS in a few weeks.  If I knew Verizon wasn't going to follow through with their promised date, then I would have waited.

I understand dates can change, but they should have made it more ambiguous.  Instead of saying Early 2012, they could have said coming in 2012.  That would have been a perfectly fine, defendable statement.

As far as the second core goes, I have an app on my phone that shows core 2 is completely turn off.  The cpu monitor shows no activity in the core period.  This is because Gingerbread can not use the second core at all.  It is not multi-threaded like Ice Cream Sandwich.

Not being multi-threaded doesn't necessarily mean the 2nd core is unused.  There are plenty of google hits to indicate that while it's not used much, it can still be used when needed.  It's not efficient or highly optimized but it's there.

Also I'm sure Verizon probably talked with HTC and expected they could have the update ready by then.  HTC probably got sidetracked with their One line and pushed the other updates back and it'd help everyone's sanity if Verizon would communicate more but don't see that changing anytime soon. Kind of silly that they actually committed to a general time given their history and the uproar it usually brings.

You know, it's technically not a lie if you don't know the actual truth.  And managers wouldn't know any better than the sales people about any update.  I'd even be willing to bet that there was some sort of asterisk or footnote telling you that release dates may change.

Well, I can't speak for the in store advertising (thats in a landfill somewhere), but I know the Press Release I took to the store has no asterisk on it.  I showed it to the associate and the associate showed it to the manager (guessing to verify authenticity).  I was assured the uodate was coming as described in the release.  Thats what got me to buy the phone.  If they truly could not know if this scheduled date could be honored, then I think Verizon has an obligation to better train there staff.
