My Pixel XL periodically stops receiving texts, and when I realize this I need to reboot into safe mode, unlock, then when I reboot back to normal texts are fixed. I recently found out I could recover texts by using the Messages+ app, but I prefer the built in messenger app for texting and switch back afterwards. Is anybody else having this issue, and is there any long term fix other than the periodic reboots?
In order to check that I am not receiving texts, I request a google verification code by logging into my account, or by texting myself, either will fail when I stop receiving texts. There is no real pattern to when I stop receiving the texts either.
Have you gotten a new SIM card in case it is corrupted?
