network help!! new phone!

ok, so I am totally technilogically impaired, but I just got the razr yesterday, after many many many many shitty androids, I----nevermind....I never had any connction problems with my old phone, android incredible. But this phone, i can't do anything other than text without being connected to a network??? I don't know what that means, and I don't have wifi?!??!

what do I do??

try to restart device, go to menu,data make sure its enable and global data is on for all trips

next time buy an iphone please
