Received notice to update Android 3/26/2013. No Internet access now.

Razr Maxx.  Previous version of Android - 4.0.4.  Now 4.1.2. I show five bars on the signal meter.  It does not show 3g or 4g or any other for that matter.  I cannot connect to the Internet.  I cannot setup a wireless hotspot.  I am able to place calls and send text messages, but unsure how reliable that is going to be.  I searched support but haven't found anything related to the problem.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  The photo attached shows my phone and my wife's.  Mine running 4.1.2 and hers 4.0.4.

Contacted Verizon support by phone.  They tried a hard reset, pulled the SIM and let sit for a bit, but no go.  Final resolution was to perform the Factory reset.  Goodbye data, apps, e-mail threads and text threads.  Boo.  All I have to say at this point , is that it would be nice if Motorola and Android made10 years and never had issues with system updates. sure they have a safer less intrusive way to perform updates.  I had three different Blackberry phones over the course of

What kind of connection do you have when this happens? Go to Settings >About Phone > signal info.

Have you verified your data connection is turned on?

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Network Type and Strength shows 1x =  -95dBm, 4G = -75dBm.. Mobile Data shows that it is on.

White bars mean that you are connected to Verzion Wireless, but not Google Services or the Internet.  Blue means that you are connected to the Internet and Google Services.  Many people are having problems with older WiFi routers (search this and the RAZR forums).

  1. Since you are certain that mobile data is turned on, then I'd turn my phone off, remove the SIM card, wait a couple of minutes, reinsert the SIM and turn the phone on.
  2. If that does not work then clear the system cache (many instructions on this forum).
  3. If that doesn't work then do a factory reset.  Be sure and back up everything, because you'll lose all data and settings.  Your contacts will be safe if they are stored on Gmail Contacts.
  4. Next is get a new SIM card.
  5. Finally a warranty exchange phone may be the solution.
