borc,

I also wish they would at least acknowledge the problem. I returned my new razr maxx in exchange for a refurb thinking that the problem was the phone's fault and now realizing that it's most likely a network issue, I'm stuck with a refurb Smiley Sad

B33 if that were the case it won't work at all - not itermittent - not at all. You're a little too paranoid about the SIM card being touched lol. All a person has to do is take resonable precautions in handling it. You don't need an xacto knife, surgical gloves and a hyperbaric chamber to handle one, just don't let the dog chew on it, it ain't rocket science.

All it does is register/authenticate you. It won't cause these data outages. I know because I've gone through 4 Razr's and 5 sim cards with no benefit at all. There IS an issue with the Razr/Maxx, if you get the right VZW network guy or the right Moto rep they'll tell you that straight up. What was insinuated to me yesterday was the ICE release was delayed so that a radio fix could be included with it...after 4 Razr's failing they appeased me by giving me a brand new Razr Maxx which will be here tomorrow....and hopefully ICE by the end of next week will be the end of this misery.

It's not a network issue. The Razr's have something going on with them. Apparently some of the battery saver apps can trash the s/w for the radio controls but I'm not sure if that is a cause overall or a contributor. You can have 2 phones exactly the same, side by side, one will be cranking, the other will have zero connection. This issue also affects wifi, when mine drops off the towers I can not maintain a connection to my home wifi either. Whilst my old DroidX connects up to my wifi consistently and flawlessly.

There is a bug, and I fully believe they are working on it...I am NOT making excuses I'm really torked about having these problems. I'm a network engineer for a large medical practice in my town and my doc's are getting a little pissed about me not having 24/7 connectivity - as am I.

Hoping the fixes in the ICE rollout will make life better for us all.

I just meant that he popped it off of the card from the top with his finger, without touching the gold.

I didn't see him actually put in the phone.

I took it out without touching the gold, and then put it back in to make sure that it was seated correctly, but it still didn't seem to make any difference.

This week I am in Austin TX and have been experiencing the same problems here as well.

Ok.! Smiley Happy  Well in my trying to get my point across i might seem at times to One's i'm in a Paranoid state.  It's more like this i care and i want ones to understand the characteristics of the Sim Card and How i installed them in my Devices that doesn't mean they have to follow what i Do. But it might help in the long Run..Smiley Happy

It has got to be a network issue. Me and a buddy of mine have the same issues on our razrs... he's wiped his phone and flashed ICS ( because he was tired of waiting) and he continues to have the same issue...  so it cant be the bloat ware or any of the software on the device. So if its not the software.. or the device, as some people have received new devices all together and the issues are still present (and the fact that it is affecting multiple devices of different make and model), and if new sim cards do not work (run on sentence?) then it must be a network issue. BTW my wifi is absolutely flawless, but I hate that it has got so bad here in NC that my wifi is the only way my phone can get online.

I tried the connectivity app from motorola. No help. I hope someone can figure this out. I also live in nc and i cant even get on the internet.I may just take the phone back and get my money back. I will use my driod x again which had no issues. Its a shame when they say 4g lte is so great and fast and it DOESNT WORK. Thats equal to 0g lte.

Well, after about a month of taking the phone to multiple Verizon stores, going through several, and a lack of give a damn from anybody at Verizon; I have simply given up.

Earlier this week I reactivated my old iPhone 4 and have had no issues with the 3G so this is clearly a network issue.  Maybe I will try 4G again someday when Verizon starts to give a crap about customer problems.
