This is the way to transfer music...
- Open up the music player you want on your computer
- Hook up your phone
- Select "mount" on the phone
- Go to My Computer
- Removable Storage & select your phone
- Drag & drop songs into the music/playlist folder

Windows Media Player works well for transferring music. Just make sure your phone is mounted as a disk drive (don't select HTC Sync). If you have a microSD card, the phone will show up as 2 different disk drives--just select the drive that corresponds to where you want to sync your music, then start sync'ing away with WMP.
