ringtone elimination

I had a ringtone for text messages.  I changed settings to allow a ringtone for email receipt, but no longer want one for email.  I cannot undo it.  There is no option in the settings for no ringtone.  I would leave the tones alone if they could be muted at night, is there a setting for that?

You appear to be asking 2 questions...

If you are using Gmail, open Gmail, press the left hard key, select "more", and open "settings". Scroll down to "select ringtone" and check "none".

If you want to silence the notifications, you can put the phone on "silent", but that silences everything. There may be a way to build a profile with a ringer, but no notifications. I'm not aware of that, though.

Is that a screenshot of your phone, Wildman? How did you take a screenshot? And how did you get the top bar anything but white?? :smileyvery-happy:

I've been trying to figure out how to customize mine like this.

CHECK MESSAGES, JUST PM YOU THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR SCREEN SHOTS...

That is my test unit and I was one of the lucky ones that had the Beta pushed to my device when they spit a handful out... As for screen shots you can do them with the Androids programmers SDK. It allows screen shots of device. If you google screen shot DROID X without rooting you should find a forum about how to get it and set it up.. If you have issues just PM me and I can forward the manual I have setup to instruct you.
