Software Update

So i noticed that verizons webiste for the droid X talks about a new software update to 2.3.340.

Has anyone been able to download this release? or does anyone know if  it is availible yet for OTA updating?

Nope, I'm sure there will be about 50 more posts like this in the next few days.  Verizon usually puts up those PDF's several days or even more before an updates release.

Or you can check the OTA once (or more) a day in setting->about phone->System Updates

Just updated. This update will be spread out over the next couple days(or as stated, do as I did and just push it by hitting Settings>About phone>System update), For those wondering, this is not Gingerbread.

Haven't checked anything out yet.

I checked my phone 10 minutes ago... no update

Are you both members of the Motorola Feedback Network?  Just curious because some sources are saying that the update was only supposed to be pushed to those members' devices.  I myself am a member, and received the update notification this morning.  I didn't update immediately because I needed to make a call, but when I tried to pull the update manually later, it told me that my phone was up to date.. I am still getting this message when I try to update.. kinda sucks

Im not part of the feedback network and updated this morning. On a related note, it comes with maddens 2011 app that you installed and when you select it you have to download aditional content that can take two hours to download over 3g. And after all that and you try to play it its like a demo and give you option to buy full version and can't uninstall. U thought it would be free. If you don't want to pay for it don't even bother clicking on it

Okay, it looks like Motorola or Verizon may have messed up and sent the update to multiple Drod X owners that aren't a member of the feedback network... hopefully I'm wrong because I've waited long enough for this update..

I'm one of the non-members that Moto messed up and sent the update to (well, I actually pulled it manually this morning about 6am), but it let me get the update.
