Missing user-dictionary shortcut

When I received my first "X" it had a "user dictionary shortcut" on the home screen. I had to replace the phone  because of a screen problem.  When I got my replacement, it was missing the shortcut and I can not find a way to replace it.  Also none of my dictionary was saved. It was filled extensively with English and the beginning of several other languages. How do I replace the shortcut.  It was very useful not to have to go through settings and all that to make additions.  Any help would be appreciated.

From the home screen, touch Menu.

Touch Add.

Touch Shortcuts.

Touch the shortcut type:
Under:
Settings

Select User Dictionary.

Select the shortcut.

Then that shortcut will appear on the home screen.
