Latest update problems

Ever since the last update I have been unable to stay connected to the internet.  I will get on for about 5 or 10 minutes that it says there was an unexpected browser error and it forces close on me and when it does connect it is extremely slow.  I also can not stay connected with my hot spot service either.  I have never had problems with that and am not very happy that I am paying an additional fee for the hot spot service and have been unable to use it.  My phone will also just shut itself off randomly through out the day I thought at first that battery was dying but when I turn it back on it has a full charge.  Also, where did the smiley face go on the keyboard....I liked that and now it is gone.  I am not happy at all with this update.  I use to love my phone now I am just get very frustrated every time I have to use it.

Might just be time to do the Factory Reset, given all the issues you're suddently having after the update. This is in fact what Verizon will likely have you do when/if you contact them. Many people have had the glut of their problems with GB resolved by doing this.

Good luck

PS - if you want to try to deal with each problem individually, I would  1st suggest a SEARCH for each problem you're having in this forum in the SeaRCH bar up above ... Most, if not all, issues encountered with the GB update have already surfaced and been addressed --   or at least open individual threads for each issue you're having...  It's hard to address these when people do a "dump" of all their issues/complaints into a single thread.

I would really rather not have to do another factory reset.  Since I have gotten this phone a little over a year ago I have had to factory reset the thing 5 times.  It is getting extremely annoying.  They need to test their updates a little better before the shove them out to the public.  It might be time to try a different company pretty soon if this is the way there updates always affect the customers.

The updates are made by the phone manufacturers, not Verizon. ANY phone company you go to will have the same companies making the updates, because they all have the same brands of phones.

If you aren't trying to give me a solution to the problem there is no need to respond.  I just want my phone fixed without having to wipe the whole thing AGAIN!

It's unrealistic for them to be able to take into account every possible 3rd app from the Android Market that could cause problems with the updates.

I'm sure they test against the more popular apps but they can't possibly test against every app in the marketplace.

There is a need to respond when you're thinking about making big decisions based on incorrect knowledge. You also will not want to have that tone or attitude on these forums if you're trying to get ANY help whatsoever. As you can see, you've already lost me and Cody21 (more him probably because you cannot use a simple SEARCH function for problems that were reported 4 months ago all over these forums)

"not Lost", but have to ask again whether he/she took the suggestion I made and performed the Factory Reset ...?

@clmj - I also agree with vereyezuhn --   a less combatitive tone will go a lot further and get you a lot more help on these forums.

If you do not want to do a factory reset, my suggestion is to eliminate all third-party apps and see what happens. If everything is working fine, than you should know that one or more of the third party apps was messing you up. Add your third party apps back one at a time and try your internet connection/hot spot. If they mess up again after adding an apps, you know that this apps was the culprit and just get rid of it.

Clmj, I can definitely understand why these issues with your device can be frustrating. A few things I would suggest first are to clear data/cache from your Browser application. This may help with the error messages on the Browser and slow speeds. Also, you can try enabling safe mode to see if the issues persist. If not, if may be one of the 3rd party applications having a problem with the new software. If the issues are still occurring in safe mode, then I would suggest a factory reset as others have suggested.
