Keyboard issues - Droid X

When the keyboard comes up...I can type the 1st word after that the cursor blinks and I can continue to type but nothing shows.  Then if I hit the space bar and extra blue box pops up and it pops off the message to whatever the screen behind it is, text message, browser, or social app.  I've tried removing the battery.  I've tried clearing all cache.  Is there anyway to fix this problem?

You could try another keyboard, there are a ton on the market. I prefer Swiftkey X myself although I got it for free on amazon's free app of the day. There are free ones on the android market, just try anything different to see if that helps.
