How to delete favorites from the phone screen

Does anyone know how to delete "favorites" from the phone screen?  It is listed with the call log, contacts and then Favorites.  These are the calls you have place several times I presume. I need to delete several names from the screen, but not sure how.

Hi.  I understand that you want to know how to delete favorites from the contacts and I can certainly tell you how.    You can go to your contacts and unclick the star to remove it from the favorites.   Any other numbers in the favorites section are your frequently dialed numbers.
