Help! Having issues with keyboard!

I just started having issues with my Droid X...now, whenever I use the keyboard, it inevitably freezes/locks up, sometime force closing what I'm in, sometimes not.  The latest software upgrade was completed about a week ago...since then, the device itself seems to have a bit of a lag in whatever I am doing.

The problem has only happened since the update.  The keyboard completely locks/freezes whether I am sending an email (ymail or gmail) facebook, twitter or even a regular text...

Have tried powering on and off, leaving battery out for 15 minutes, clear cache, etc.  Anybody else experiencing problems and if so, have you gotten them worked out?

I would really rather not factory reset it and I really don't want to get a certified pre-owned...my droid x was just purchased 3 months ago.

This has been discussed on several areas... Try disabling vibration under Settings / Launguage and Keyboard / Multi-Toich Keyboard and Vibrate and Audio on keypress...

Also you can try Smart Keyboard from Market because I am using it and it is the smoothes keyboard on my device..
