Gmail account feature

Hello folks,

I setup my email accounts and added <my_name>@gmail.com as account name ... as long as other email accounts like <my_name>@hotmail.com. When I setup those accounts I chose the type of email which has @ in the middle. Now I receive messages to 2 accounts at the same time: both accounts ID is <my_name>@gmail.com but they are opened in different clients i.e. one in Gmail client and one in a 'regular' @ client.

My question: why I receive 2 identical messages sent to Gmail and @ accounts and how could I setup email and say that I want to have only <my_name>@gmail.com in Gmail format?

To prevent yourself from receiving duplicate emails for the same account you will need to delete one of the accounts from your device. To remove a personal email account follow the directions below:

1. From the home screen, touch the applications tab(located at the bottom of the display).
2. Touch My Accounts.
3. Touch and hold a POP / IMAP account.
   The accounts listed may vary.
4. Touch Remove account.
5. Touch Yes

Thanks for your helpful reply. It worked perfectly .. but it brought me another problem. Maybe you will be able to help me? My goal is to see all my email in one place. Before I used Universal inbox but now I can't add Gmail accounts to it. Well I have 2 gmail accounts which I'm opening now in Gmail client, 1 yahoo and 1 @hotmail account.
Could you please help me to arrange it somehow either to see on Universal inbox or etc?

On your computer go to gmail, settings. Within settings configure gmail to check your other email accounts and now you can get them all through the gmail app on your phone
