It seems like The Droid has a mind of it's own about how I want my pictures organized. If I had my way, it would be the other way around and I would tell Mr. Droid how to organize my pictures. Does anyone know how The Droid decides how to order pictures in Gallery. Are there any good apps for organizing albums?
The droid organizes the gallery by where the picture/video is taken from. If the pictures are taken from the phone's camera then it will have all the pictures taken from the camera in one album and if the picture/video is copied from a SMS message then there will be a specific album for those pictures. Unfortunately I was unable to find an application in the android market for organizing albums.
This morning when I woke up, the Gallery shortcut on my phone wasn't working anymore - very strange. I added it to the menu again, and now it is linked to my Picasa albums. If you're looking for a way to better organize your picture gallery, I actually really like this view better. I now see all of my Picasa albums on the phone, plus additional folders for my Downloaded Pictures, Bluetooth Pictures, and Camera Phone Pictures. The Picasa albums are also nice because you can "swipe" through the pictures like you would on an iPhone.
UNFORTUNATELY - I have no idea how I suddenly got this new album. But it might be worth checking out if you can figure out how to install it!
The gallery that comes with Android 2.1 has Picasa syncing built in. So you must have gotten the update.
