droid x gingerbread;
i seem to connect to Netgear WRN2000 wireless N router, using WPA2 password; droid shows it's connected.
but i cannot access the internet; when other devices on the network laptop, desktop, can access internet on same wifi network.
when i do a ping test, it's successful; showing the Droid with correct MAC address, same IP assigned.
done resets of wifi; powercycle the droid; nothing helps. had it 10 months.
Verizon said they couldn't help me; referred me to motorola.
motorola suggested factpory default settings, but don't want to have to readd data and programs if i don't have to.
the Netgear router is hardwired to Fios Actiontec modem/router, and supplies the wireless radio as N; Actiontec radio shut off as it's G.
any ideas?
thanks,
pdoyle
Netgear is a pain in the rump. I have a Netgear N router, a Cisco N router, and a Linksys G router in my house.
My Droid hooks up to the Cisco and Linksys with no problems, but I am unable to hook up to the Netgear.
I would look in getting a Linksys or Cisco wireless router to replace the Netgear. That would be the easiest way to get the X on WiFi in your house.

It's got to be a software issue. If I turn on airplane mode, and then turn on WiFi, WiFi works great and I can surf the 'net. But as soon as I turn off airplane mode, 3G takes over. The WiFi is still connected, but all packets go through the 3G connection.
