I'm hoping tht someone can enlighten me to choose either the Droid Charge or the HTC ThunderBolt?  Both/Neither?  I need help in deciding before Tuesday.  I need the pros/cons for both phones.  Someone at one of the location had told me tht the HTC ThunderBolt had been returned a LOT.  So he recommended the Droid Charge.  However there is a price difference and Im sure he gets comission based on the cost/price of phone and or the additional items tht I purchase.  Please help me make my decesion :smileyhappy:  I greatly appreciate it!  Thanks very much

From what I have been reading the T'bolt has to be getting close to EOL as I have read about the T'bolt 2.

I decided on the TB and have been enjoying the device without issues but I acknowledge some has reported having issues but each to the own and on t the same note I have seen a number of users showed a dislike for that Charge as well...   Both devices has its positive and negatives.

1. Thunderbolt is a sold built device compared to the charger. (Charge is built with to much of a plastic look)

2. The Charge has a better quality screen over TB

3.  Some say the charge have better battery life but I use the extended battery on my TB and power hasn't been a issue

4.  Sound quality for the TB seem better in my opinion over the Charge

5.  Charge is thinner but the TB seems to feel better in the hand and better to hold.

Basically these are just my views but I looked at both devices and decided on the Thunderbolt and in my opinion it is a solid device for me and I am not regretting getting it.  Since the MR2 update app has been running perfectly for me.

Plus I am not saying HTC is perfect, but their updates and support is wwwaayyyy  better than Samsung any day, look at the number of Galaxy devices that hasnt seen so much as one fix or update since release..

I can't find the information right now but will keep looking. I chose the Charge. Rooting the phone makes it a totally different phone. After 35 hours I finally charged the battery. The screen is awesome. Yes it is much lighter than the Thunderbolt but with the case that I got with it from Verizon it is now easier to hold and as a stand which is better than the Thunderbolt. If you could wait a month I understand the Motorola Boinc is suppose to come out. I don't think you could go wrong with either one. Go to the store and get hands on and then make your choice. Same advice I gave my granddaughter when she couldn't decide on a Tablet.

I still dont get why they changed the look, it looks to much like a cross of the Droid X and Original Droid...  Not a design I can do again, the Droid X was different for me and I hope they got the hardware issue worked out..

If you plan to stay stock the charge might work better for you, however the thunderbolt has been hardware and runs smoother with a little tweaking

Dear Craddock,

From your location, I would guess that you are not in a 4G area. Let me know if I am wrong.

You should get a 4G phone primarily for faster data speeds.  The 4G phone will not improve your voice calling, since the phone handles voice calls using the 3G network.  There may be other reasons for you to want a 4G phone that don't relate to data speeds, but you will be paying a premium for the phone and not getting all the features.

I am in a 3G only area, and don't expect 4G during the time I will own my Charge.  However, I got it for other reasons, mainly the screen quality.  I have been largely satisfied with the phone.  However, as you can see from this forum, many other users are experiencing problems and are not happy with the phone.  You should also check the Thunderbolt forum for a view of problems with that model.

I originally chose a Motorola Droid X2 just before getting the Charge.  I liked that phone a lot.  Although is was strictly 3G, it had a very nice screen, fast processor and good call quality.  However, it had problems with the music player, and that was an issue for me, since I use the phone as my music player when riding my motorcycle.  I returned the X2 within the 14 day period and got the Charge, after looking at both the Charge and the T-bolt.  I have been very happy with my choice.
