I am not much a computer person but I got the droid and then got the droid x but I am disappointed in the phone. What is the big difference in the phones and what can I do with the droid x that I can not  do with the droid beside hear it ring?

Thanks :smileysad:

first of all...have you looked at the X?  Did you notice any differences in the 2 phones when looking at them, looking with your eyes maybe?

record awesome 720p HD video and output via HDMI directly from your phone.

View your pictures and music on a 4.3" HD screen.

Set up a wireless hotspot.

Use the processing power to run newer applications and games.

did i say it has a 4.3" HD screen and takes 720p HD video and has HDMI out?

so if none of these things matter to you go return it and reactivate your original droid.

i'm not trying to be cute with my reply, but....well, maybe i am a little.

It's hdmi, should win you over, you can record, in high definition, then watch it on your hdtv.

I would have to say for me...it's the screen. #1 reason I bought it.

But the secondary reasons (and i am a computer person)

  1. 2x the ram
  2. 2x the processing speed
  3. 8gb internal memory + 16GB microSD included
  4. Fast dedicated GPU(graphics processor) to help w/ gaming and video.
  5. 720p HD video
  6. HDMI out
  7. 8MP dual LED flash camera(dissapointed in picture quality though)
  8. Larger battery
  9. NO SLIDE OUT KEYBOARD!!,

You've been given a couple of very accurate posts about the advantages of the Droid X over the Droid. And may I add, in an unscientific moment that the phone simply ROCKS (good one about the ringer volume, the Droid will loosen mortar with its ring and I miss that, no doubt!).

But let me re-phrase....the Droid X ROCKS....for me.

But it may throw cold water on you (meaning it's not that big a deal to you). And that's perfectly fine. You need to use the phone that ROCKS for you. My 19-year-old daughter is perfectly happy with my old Droid, you couldn't pry it from her ditzy-college-dazed hands if you tried.

And frankly, at the moment, Dad's thankful......:smileyvery-happy:

Enjoy whatever you settle on...

If you're not a "computer person", the iPhone is better for you. The controls Apple puts on iOS is quite helpful for someone who doesn't want to tweak or learn to much computer-ese

So that explains why my sister dislikes her Droid and loves her mac book. Then there's me who avoids Apple like the plague. Apple has yet to impress me with their products.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I read somewhere that the iPhone is targeted more to the soccer mom crowd (e.g., not very technically inclined) .... It requires little knowledge to use it .... but then again, you're pretty much force-fed everything and restricted what you can do

{edit for TOS violation}

With the Droid X, we get the chance to tweak and configure things that suit us.  Frankly, I find it a very powerful and wonderful .. er ah .. computer device that also makes calls on a great network.

YMMV
