Hey Verizon Wireless Community Members,

One of the features this new platform offers is the ability to differentiate between regular discussions and actual questions about your devices, plans, apps, etc. This feature is very helpful for our Verizon Wireless Support Staff, along with our Community Leaders and our Super Users floating around the Community. Its imperative that everyone gets in the habit of marking their QUESTIONS as a question when starting a "DISCUSSION". If you just want to discuss topics with other members and have no legitimate questions then you can simply use your "Actions menu" and select "Start a Discussion". Give you discussion a subject and write your content in the body. However if it is a Question you must type in your subject and check the "Mark this discussion as a Question" box, this way our support staff and members that are able to assist you can easily find your question by filtering "View all Unanswered Questions" otherwise your post could potentially get buried deep in discussions and we will be unable to help you quickly with your issue.

 

In addition writing, answering or adding helpful answers gives YOU points so you can rank up levels in the Community. Members that answer questions or provide helpful content to questions also have the ability to receive points so that they can rank up as well. Members will receive the MOST amount of points for "Answering questions and adding Helpful content to Questions" making utilizing this feature one of the most important!

 

Below is a screen shot of what everyone see's when they "Start a Discussion". Please note the green arrow shows the "Subject Line" which is used with both "Discussions and Questions" whereas you will only check the box the Red arrow is pointing too when you have a "Question"
