Unlocked Devices Samsung / Apple

I am continually looking at the mid range device market not only in the U.S. but throughout the globe in my travels. Personally i have to, i have a large family, and i want recent tec at  reasonable price points for my kids. As an example the Samsung A50 released 3/2019 gsm in the global market yet somehow passed Verizion's device compatiblity list from 2018 directly to sales mid June 2019. If i am correct, correct me if i am wrong, Verizon is a cdma network. Therefore one would see my delema when i raise a question regarding " Bring a Samsung factory unlocked A70 device to Verizon " ?

To shed more light on the issue.. I notice " Apple User's " have brought their phones from other networks or brought them unlocked and are using them on Verizon's network, no problem. I understand cdma/gsm ect... However i don't understand when a device is gsm how is it running on a cdma network? If that's the case what's the compatability issue with Samsung A70 device?

Sure a Verizon consumer can buy an old flagship device that has better chipset, faster processor, ect in the same price range as the A50 - A70 but the old flagship devices lack recent hardware development and software of today. As a large family consumer and many other large families using Samsung products on Verizion's network in the U.S., we should be able to bring factory unlocked Samsung devices to Verizion's network. Why is this not happening for Samsung User's at Verizon wireless?

That's a great question, Falcon09. Verizon Wireless is retiring the CDMA network. Right now, the CDMA network is primarily used to carry voice services on some devices.  Some devices without CDMA are certified to work on our network by using HD Voice, which carries your calls over the LTE network. For more information on CDMA network retirement, please follow this link: http://spr.ly/6601EQTwV. Is this information useful?

The LTE network on Verizon Wireless is GSM based. All devices now activated must be capable of VoLTE or advanced calling over the LTE network. Review the BYOD list of certified devices for unlocked model that can be used on the Verizon Wireless network.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
