You and many others are wondering the same thing. I check Verizon Wireless News Center

and Verizon website often. Nothing yet, no announcements. By the time VZW finally gets the Classic,

wonder how many will already have purchased from Shop BlackBerry or Amazon and switched to a GSM carrier.

Not enough people will switch for it to matter. Blackberry holds maybe 2% of the market which means nothing honestly.

That's one way to look at it, if you wear a blindfold. Every sale counts, no matter what business it is.

So passing up a possible sale isn't good, period. Will I go for the Classic, maybe.

Not the point, US carriers suck when it comes to BlackBerry, support equals sales.

And the people that leave over a blackberry will have 3 times as many people switch over to Verizon for an iPhone or Android because Another Carrier won't give them one at 2 year price because they are in contract.If you want to look at it from a business view they won't make enough $$$ off the blackberry to make it worth it

That is still a negative outlook. I couldn't care less what an iPhone nor Android user does.

If the morons want to use inferior phones, go for it. US carriers get into a ridiculous sales quota with Apple, so their focus is on iPhone and couldn't care less about their customers. 'Nuf said,

I agree that verizon needs to get going on a secure e-mail platform such as blackberry.

Verizon-- please dont drag your feet on the CDMA blackberry--I dont want to go to ATT...

Id rather stay with Verizon...

The initial announcement was that Verizon would have this phone available early in the first quarter.  First quarter is January through March.  I'm thinking early would imply before the halfway point.  Hoping to see something before February 14th.

That having been said, I don't think Verizon cares much about the new BlackBerry phones.  And while I'm on the topic, BlackBerry made a serious mistake by not releasing CDMA compatible versions of both the Passport and the Classic from the get-go.  With the company in disaster recovery mode, why did they exclude a good portion of their potential customer base from new products if they're trying to remain a viable option?  It just doesn't make sense unless there's something going on behind the scenes they don't want brought to light.

I have a Q10 and love it, and would get one of these new phones in a heartbeat if they were available on Verizon, but personally, I think this may be the year that sees the end of BlackBerry.

I don't think that's how it works.............if they released CDMA phones from the start, no one would buy them - because no one could use them  - because Verizon would not allow them on their network.

This is not Blackberry dragging their feet. This is all Verizon.

I really want a QI enabled Blackberry classic to use with my current carrier, ( not Verizon) but it seems to be taking Verizon an incredibly long time to do much of anything. I may give up and buy an unlocked GSM version.

This kind of thing is why I avoid Verizon if I can.
