Talk me out of switching

I've been with verizon for quite a few years now. So far everything has been good but on my account it says I'm eligible for early upgrade on edge but when I select the phone I want (blackberry classic) it changes to full retail. Apparently the only phone I can upgrade too is the droid turbo which I don't want to do as I'm trying to leave android for something new. With the great deals offered by sprint a tmobile I will probably leave if I can't upgrade sooner than my current upgrade date in August. Is it really too much to ask to be able to upgrade to the classic on edge or a new two year contract a few months early?

Thanks

Sam

Verizon likes to keep the 2 year contract customers as close to 2 years as possible.  I have heard of upgrading 1 week early though.

But no, I will not try to talk you out of switching.

Early Edge is a promotion that is tied to a specific phone. The phone changes every once in a while, but it is always a phone, or max 2 on promotion at any one time. Since you are not eligible for any upgrade yet, the price to pay for going early is a restriction on which phone you can choose. I am sure there is some agreement between the manufacturer and Verizon for promoting and selling a certain phone and this is one way they do that agreement.

Otherwise, Verizon has pretty much stopped early upgrades. Of the many posts on this forum with the same basic request, I know of only 1 person that was given early upgrade on contract in the last 6 months.
