Anyone,
So I am in Estonia right now. I called Verizon before I left the states and changed my plan to international so I would get better rates while I'm here. My phone is not working. I have the latest firmware and my signal just says SOS. I have played with the settings and can't get anything different than SOS. Is there a prefered service carrier for Estonia? I left my phone set to the default settings hoping it would figure itself out. Now it has been a day and I still can not make any calls or access to data. Any ideas?
Thanks

Do you have the SIM card installed in your Storm? You need it for "roaming" on other carrier networks.

Unless it was removed after purchase, the Storm comes with a SIM card preinstalled. However, that doesn't mean that VZW automatically activated the SIM card when the phone was activated.

cstrait001 is correct. You should have gone to Verizon Store (not autherized dealers) to make sure SIM card is set up for international roaming. But try this too Home Screen > Manage Connections > Mobile Network Options > Network Technology > Global (connect to GSM or CDMA carriers)

You can also call (800) 711-8300 to speak to a Global Support Specialist to activate the SIM card.
