Hi,

Just a reminder that the latest Official Verizon OS update for the 9550 Storm2 is available for download.  It can be found at Verizon's download site at http://vzw.smithmicro.com/blackberry/.  Just a reminder, if you have never updated a Blackberry before, take some time to prepare just in case of an error.  Backup your device with Blackberry Desktop Manager.  It will save your contacts and other personal settings.  For tips on upgrading your Blackberry OS, see the lecture series at Crackberry at http://crackberry.com/blackberry-101-how-install-or-upgrade-new-rim-operating-system-os.  Good luck,

Just a side note,

I have looked and can not find a change log for this update.  I can report that a lot of users are reporting problems with Blackberry Messenger after the update on their devices.  It seems that the keyboard does not appear while using the Messenger Groups feature.  I just thought I would pass this along.

The .66 BBM has this glitch and even if you use app world and dl the old .57 version it is still present. Here is a workaround that works. In BBM Chat group hit the BB button and hit New Chat, then hit cancel and your keyboard stays up. You do have to do this every time but it does allow you to still chat in groups.

FYI- There is a new BBM that is in beta right now that does fix this glitch. So it is coming soon.

Other than that I really like this OS.

Also another new feature to verizon OS's is the pop up keys function. This makes it so when you type the keys pop up above your fingers showing you exactly what you are pressing.

To get there go Options>Screen/Keyboard>Show Key Indicator> three options light up and default is NEVER. Change to Always and presto, it makes typing in portait mode alot more bearable.

I have this on my S1 running .419 OS. I tried to tell someone else about it and he couldn't find it under his Options / Screen / Keyboard. He even sent me a pic of his available settings where I said it was, same place as yours. So some people don't get it. I absolutely love it. It is like a new phone. I cannot imagine how I used they keyboard without it? Do you know of some other setting that will make this Option appear?

Wish I could say the same.  "Enterprise Activation" is locked up all day, and my normal Gmail account won't show messages, but my messages icon shows them along with my local isp's mail.  What gives there?  This is nothing but a big headache.  Also, MANY of my gmail contacts are now duplicated (on the gmail server, so a BB backup doesn't help here) AND now I find my Desktop software won't boot and my desktop computer doesn't recognize my phone, even with the device manager running (vista, go figure).  Next time I'll tell it not to upgrade... if I get this working again.
