Had a BB world edition 8830. Charger port broken. Can't recharge. Upgraded to BB Tour. Can't download contacts because port is broken, haven't saved contacts in PC. How do I get them out of old phone and into new phone?

You can install Google Sync on both devices to sync them wirelessly. So you'll need to reactivate your 8830 install Google Sync then reactivate the Tour and install Google Sync on that to restore the contacts.
Moral of the story: always keep a backup of everything on the PC. Do it every time you change something important.
You may also be able to bluetooth your 8830 to your computer and enable bluetooth support in Desktop Manager.
You would then be able to sync the old phone that way.

Connecting PC to device via bluetooth works well. I did it with my old Pearl to sync. All you need is a bluetooth wireless USB adapter to plug into your PC. You can get one at WalMart for less than 20 bucks. I lost mine so that's why I am not using that method now with my Tour.
