Key board not responding

This morning my key board just stopped responding.  Even the track ball.  When I take the battery out it starts but I can not retreive anything.  I can not answer incoming calls.  What can I do

How old is the phone? If it is less than a year old, it's still under the manufacturer's warranty. Take it to a Verizon store and have a tech verify the problem and have it replaced.

If it is over a year old, you may be in the market for a new phone....

I wonder if the magnetic strip under the keyboard which reads what you type has bit the dust.
