Thank you for the information presented in a civil tone.

I stopped at a VWS store today and asked the same question and was told that its not 100% but it looked like April would be the launch date with VWS. The girl I talked to had been , somewhere ,I forget where she said, and there was a prototype being demonstrated. Her words " Its going to be a kick **bleep** phone"

Its not too hard to search... no matter what forum ur in.  Besides... Isn't the DROID the Google based phone that's advertised over all forms of media???

{no personal comments, please} do some research yourself? Just a suggestion...

To whom it may concern;

        I did do a search for [  Google Phone  ] before I posted my question. My search did not produce a thread with that term in it so I asked.

I did not know at the time that the Google phone had a name  [  NEXUS 1  ] , had I known that  , I would have searched for that.

 The comment about doing a search is not what irked me , it was the ... Buddy.... part. Very condescending in my eyes.

So.... having defended myself , Do with me as you will.  I plead  ' Not Guilty '

Check out the Android forums.  It will be in there.  A CDMA version of the Nexus 1 is supposed to be ready in the Spring according to HTC and Google.  There is a lot of speculation as to why Spring but I think the CDMA chipset for that processor is only recently finished or not quite done so it still needs some testing and tweeking.  The cool thing is from what I read and I believe it was on the HTC site or the Qualcomm site is that the CDMA version is actually supposed to be a CDMA and GSM chipset so it could technically be available unlocked and useable on any of the major US networks.  I haven't heard anything official but I suspect Verizon will subsidize it once it is released.  Though I don't stand by that.  I believe that the way it is set up (i.e. as a part of the Google store instead of for sale on the networks) means it will work like an Open innitiative device so it will be up to HTC and Google to handle support so it could be really good for verizon having hot talked about awesome phones without the hassle.  Interestingly my wife's blackberry is already supported by Best Buy instead of Verizon so if she has a problem she would go to them instead.  Depending on how Google works it this could be good for everyone.  Personally i think the combination of Google opening a phone store to sell unlocked and subsidized phones, and Qualcomm developing a multi-network capable chipset with good battery life and outstanding performance will make for a lot of really cool devices and could lead to something mutually benificial for a change.

Cool.  It is basically going to be like the Droid but no hardware keyboard and a considerably faster processor and the same size and resolution screen but with OLED technology which would be nice to have.  Aside from those 3 things there isn't a lot of difference.  LOL.  Pretty much an awesome doodad.
