Enterprise Intellisync Server Admin cannot log on to the Exchange Server

I am trying to syncronize the first time with my verizon 8330 curve and BB desktop sw 4.7. When I go to configure the items for synchronization and try to set up first item - calendar - I go through everything using MS Outlook and it says you have successfully completed the steps but when I click finish - the error above in subject matter is what I get.
I have confirmed that Outlook is the default email program and I have no problems with Outlook on the computer. I get all my email on my blackberry and computer - just cannot synchronize. I also de-installed the desktop SW and reinstalled and still get same message. I am using verizon email - no exchange server.
Please Help!
