I just got a new blackberry, and finally figured out that I can not download my Backup Assistant directly to the Blackberry, Can some walk me through what I need to do to save my backup assistant to outlook or excel and download to the Blackberry, I was told by a Verizon tech this am not to take it to the phone store because it gets fouled up.
Thanks in advance

Take your old and new phones to the Verizon store. They will transfer contacts and pictures for you. The tech is misinformed as I have done this with three different phones with no problem.
As far as dowmloading contacts, I don't have a clue.

Carol,
There is no built in way to get to Excel with Backup Assistant, but there is a kludgy workaround. Tell Backup Assistant to print your contact list (on your computer), and it will open a pop up window with the information. You can then click and drag to select all of it, copy, and paste it AS TEXT (on the right click menu in Excel choose Paste special....then choose as text) into Excel. That will put everything into nice neat columns in Excel that you can do with what you like...save as .csv, save as .txt, etc. and then import that into the BB.
HTH,
