Your Blackberry data plan does not include any text message allowance. If you're not paying for some type of package then it's .20 per message sent or received. If you're using more than 25 messages a month it's best to add some sort of text plan.

 

So yes, twitter would count as .20 per message.

Twitter via m.twitter.com will not cost anything

 

Twitter via 40404 will cost you $0.20 a messages

Some of the BB Twitter clients will also run, essentially on BBM. I believe both Twitterberry and Uber Twitter can be configured so that they use BBM instead of text, thus not counting as text messages.

I have a $30 Blackberry plan and a premium (or something like that) plan for 450 mins for like $60 per month and for $90 per month I get unlimited text/net/email.

Twibble does not use text, it uses the data plan. But you should look into UberTwitter, much cleaner user interface and a lot snappier. I found Twibble to be much too cluttered when using the @reply or Retweet functions...etc.
