Blackberry Storm Rebooting....ALL THE TIME

I have had my Blackberry for a couple months now.  I am on my 2nd one because the 1st one acted the same way.  How do I stop my BlackBerry from rebooting ALL THE TIME?  I have the latest OS version.  I'm so over this phone it's not funny.  I like it...when it works, but this rebooting makes the phone not useful.

Anyone know what i need to do besides taking it out back and shooting it?

Remove the SIM card from your Storm, it is useless on a CDMA network like Verizon. My Storm used to reboot occasionally, but when I removed SIM card, till this day did not reboot by itself. Good luck.:smileywink:

Get another one or have your local VZW store reload the OS, that is not normal and shouldn't be tolerated.

My Storm doesn't reboot all the time, but sometimes when i take it out of the holster, the hourglass pointer keeps going & while does that, cannot access anything on it, gets frustrating. When you go to options, & network technology, should it be on global or 1XEV or GSM/UMTS?

Data services should be ON

Mobile Network Verizon Wireless

Network Selection Mode Automatic

Network Technology Global

I had exactly the same problem of Storm occasionally rebooting by itself, when I remove Storm out of holster.  Remove the SIM card that is in your Storm, and see what happens. I removed my SIM card a week ago, and no reboots! The SIM card is useless on the Verizon network because of CDMA, unlike the other carriers that are GSM. Another person had this problem, and suggested removing SIM card and it worked for that person. Good luck.:smileyvery-happy:

:smileysurprised:Let me clarify. I don't know if the SIM card is really necessary  in Verizon network, unless traveling outside U.S. But try removing the SIM card to stop the random reboot and see what happens.

I see a red looking card that looks like it is held in place with melted plastic posts, that says Verizon on it. Is that the SIM card, because the only other card is the 8GB media card? I do not see away to get that card out without maybe doing damage to the phone? There is a setting in the phone that puts it in to self cleaning mode when it is in the holster or idle for over 5 minutes, which the minutes can be adjusted.  I wonder if that is what is going on, they remove phone and it is in self cleaning mode and it takes a few min. to exit self cleaning?

I should have been more specific. The red card with the Verizon logo or Vodafone is the SIM card. You have to turn Storm off and remove battery before removing the SIM card. But "melted plastic posts???" I really surprised. When I took the SIM card out it wasn't like that. I just straighten a paper clip and pushed SIM card out.  Sorry.:smileysad:

I just took off the battery cover off my Storm, the "clip" that holds the SIM card looks metal. I don't understand how it could melt, or even being plastic posts. Did you get Storm brand new at Verizon Store or is it refurbished?:smileysurprised:
