I also called tech support. I was asked for my land line # so he could access my phone. He would get it fixed and call me on the land line. Well that was three days ago. These folks you talk to just blow you off. What Verizon has and is doing is very up setting. They have no right to change my phone with out notice and my approval. If they can change your search provider than they could also limit, block any services/apps for any reason taking your choices away.. If any one from Verizon Wireless reads this forum I hope they take it for action. Reinstate our search options as they were. Add bing if you must. BUT leave the other choices.

I just noticed it got pushed to my phone today.

Thanks Verizon in giving your customers "choices". I don't care what deal you made with microsoft. Just like every computer you buy, you should have a choice of a search engine.

In this day and age, that was an extremely [edit] thing to do.

I don't care which search engine you think is better. It's still a [edit] thing to do, and it should be a choice. Not rammed down our throats like they did.

Woyala, this has nothing to do with the ability to use another search engine. I will always have my options. What it does have to do with, is the way Verizon handled it. They took choices away that we once had and left us with no choices at all on the Go To screen.

How happy would you be if you hopped in your car tomorrow only to find one radio station? Would you not be unhappy about that? Oh sure, you can buy a separate tuner with a modulator, or hard wire... etc... But why should you have to?

Look at it for what it is. A corporate deal that benefits Microsoft and Verizon without regard for the consumer. Period.

If you wish to send a message and demonstrate that such maneuvers will engender negative reactions in the customer base, boycott Bing--not just on the phones but on your regular computers as well.  And let Verizon know that you're doing so.  I'm not using Bing as long as the browser default remains the same.

Same thing goes to gaming consoles.  If a game is exclusive for one game console what you do? well, those who can afford it buy the other one and play the game or you don't.  When exclusive deals are made between 2 companies, there's nothing the customer can do about it.  I myself don't use bing unless is for cashback and still right now in my Tour I have the default search engine and I most of the time use the google app instead.

Verizon is threading a very fine line these days with this latest push on Bing.  One of the biggest draw for the iPhone is customization.  If Verizon doesn't get that and force their clients to use their phones a certain way, their days are numbered.  If they are smart, they'll bring back the other search providers.  If they pull another stunt like this, I'd rather pay the early termination fee and go with AT&T.  I frankly don't care about coverage in middle America and it won't be long before AT&T catches up anyway.  Verizon, get a clue.

Yes, this does suck.  I regret purchasing the crappy storm 2 even more now.
