I have the Blackberry Tour, I have never had 3G service. The most i Get is 1EXV. Whats the deal, I want the most out of my service. I live in Virgina.
1X is your 2G voice network. EV is your 3G data network. You ARE getting 3G. EV is short for EVDO - Evolution Data Optimized, which is the 3G network that CDMA carriers run.
Only newer phones, like the 9550, 9650 and the 8530 display it as 3G.
This is why VZW changed it - because people were thinking they're not getting 3G when they really are.
