Hi,
I was curious to hear from some Curve 8530 owners on how they like the trackpad. Do you find it easier to use than the trackball? Have you had any problems navigating with the trackpad? I just want to see what some of your opinions might be.
Sincerely,
Doc

Are you still thinking about the Curve 2?
I was thinking about buying it for my son who has the 8330 Curve.

I played with the trackpad for couple of days and find it to be superior than the trackball. With a trackball you have to worry about not using it with your hands dirty but that's not the case with the trackpad. Also browsing the web, the trackpad runs smoother compared to the trackball.

Hey,
I agree, the hands are probably the dirtiest part of a person's body. The trackball picks up the hand's dirt and oil and over time it slows the trackball. I clean mine weekly (my trackball, not my hands) with an alcohol pad.

Howdy StreetDocRN!
I have a trackball on my phone and like it.I have had no problems with it. I do clean the trackball with an alcoholic wipe often though. Like the trackball myself.

I've only tried it in a store ... I wondered how different it could be, but it was so smooth! I could definitely get used to that, fast! Another plus is the lack of noise. No telltale trackball rolling noises when you don't want your spouse to know you're surfing the web instead of engrossed in a conversation.

Hi,
Ha. You get a Kudos point just for admitting you mess with your Blackberry instead of listening to your spouse. Thanks for your input on the trackpad.

Hi,
Interesting article found at Blackberry's official blog regarding the trackpad and how it works so well. The article can be found at http://blogs.blackberry.com/2009/12/inside-the-trackpad-a-blackberry-science-lesson/
