Why, why, why is Verizon determined to drive me away by dropping all pretense of having any RUGGED basic phones?

No, I'm not. When you enter into the sales chat for Verizon and ask for

a military grade phone they send you the link to the Convoy 3 (which is

almost impossible to find via their "Shop" interface) and according to

them the CPO really is refurbished, not "display model". The Convoy 3,

and an even more tragic dumb phone are the complete set of "rugged"

offerings utilizing Verizon celluar service. No confusion. Just being

told to purchase jokes.

When you are in a crash and bleeding out, I guess it will be a great

comfort to know you have a strong cell tower signal. Too bad your new

iPhone is now a puddle of parts on the floor or in your shirt pocket.

When your ina crash and bleeding out and your phone is in great condition but you cant make a call because you have no service too bad.  Ill ask you the same question.  If spirnt is so great why are you trolling verizon message board.  You have no excuse exept you must be a verizon custoemr and your butt hurt because they wouldnt give you something you didnt deserve at some point in time.  Sprint will pay your ETFs so you have no reason to stay, exept you know their service is trsh so you wont make the switch you just like to complain

Also if you were dying you know the chances of you making a call from something like that? More than likely someone else will make the call. When jobs that dangerous you should never be alone... Just saying.

I answered the person and now, aparently, relatives of upper management

are in here trying to defend a completely indefensible position. Before

the trolls appeared, everyone on here needed a rugged phone WITH a

functioning network. Hence the original poster's frustration. Dumb

phones are fine for the dumb. A very large segment of the cellular

market needs an honest to goodness rugged phone on a reliable network.

Right now we can get one or the other. This is mind boggling given the

various defense agencies use of cellular and requirement of rugged

phones, hence the mil-spec numbers tossed about.

Calling us trolls... You are the one who isn't thinking rationally here. Also my job is more than likely just as dangerous as yours and we travel in teams of 6. If I can't make a call surely the other 5 should be able to... Let's be serious here.

ok and our reply was verizon carrys phones that the manufactors consider themself as "rugged". And my second point was maybe verizon isnt for youi if they dont have the phones you want, however you need to decide what is important, a "rugged" phone with less service or a less "rugged" phone with good service.  If there is a phone that is not in demand verizon isnt going to sell it.  the market for this phone must be small because verizonais all about makign money.  Odviously these "rugged" phones arent making money because there isnt a big enough market for them.  Thats not bad management in most buisness places but maybe you know something smart people dont know
